Looking Ahead to My Last Semester

I can’t believe it, this is officially my last semester as a senior at Lewis University. It feels surreal to be this close to the finish line, but what makes it even better is that I get to wrap things up with some incredible classes.

This semester, I’m taking Linear Algebra, Numerical Analysis, Machine Learning, and my capstone. Linear Algebra and Numerical Analysis are going to give me the extra math foundation I’ll need for the kind of advanced machine learning work I want to do. And the Machine Learning course? That’s the one I’ve been waiting on since my first semester. I’ve already been exploring it through projects and research, but now I finally get to study it formally and push myself even further.

The class I’m most excited about, though, is the capstone. It’s the big one, the chance to pull everything I’ve learned over the past few years into one final project. I don’t know exactly what my team and I will end up building yet, but the idea of collaborating, solving a real problem, and showing off the skills we’ve built along the way is really exciting.

It’s definitely bittersweet knowing this is my final semester, but honestly, I feel ready. Between my coursework, the SURE research program, and the side projects I’ve poured myself into, everything has been leading here. I’m ready to learn, build, and make the most out of this last chapter before the next adventure begins.
